In 2011 he was honored as ‘Representative of the Year’ by the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services, and received the 'Eagle Award' from the Oklahoma Eagle Forum (presented by Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly) in recognition of his pro-life legislative efforts.
