Watch George Faught in tonight's
Congressional candidate George Faught will be participating in tonight's District 2 Republican Congressional Debate being televised on Rogers State University Public TV, and co-sponsored by the Claremore Daily Progress. "This is the first major debate in this race, and I am excited to have this opportunity to share my message with the voters of the 2nd District," Faught said. "During the debate, each candidate will be asking one of their opponents a question. Rather than asking a typical 'gotcha' question that you hear too often in debates, I have asked for input from folks across the district on what they would like to hear asked at the debate. The people have responded, and I will be using one of their questions in the debate." Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb will be moderating the debate, which will consist of three rounds of questions, in addition to opening and closing remarks. All six Republican candidates will be participating.
There will be four options to view the debate, which starts at 7pm tonight. 1. "Our nation stands at a critical crossroads. Will we continue down the reckless path of out-of-control spending, massive debt, and liberal policies, or will we stop spending money we don't have, balance the budget, and cut government down to its limited role found in the Constitution? I will fight for the second path, and I look forward to the chance tonight to share my vision with the voters," Faught said. The debate, the first televised forum of the campaign, begins at 7:00pm this evening. Staunchly pro-life, pro-business, and pro-limited government, Faught has been endorsed by the Concerned Women PAC, Eagle Forum and Phyllis Schlafly and the Can-Do Conservatives of America. In 2006, Faught became the first Republican ever elected in his state house district. In 2010, he received the top 'Limited Government' rating from Oklahomans for Sovereignty and Free Enterprise (OK-SAFE). In 2011 he received the 'Eagle Award' from the Oklahoma Eagle Forum (presented by Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly) in recognition of his pro-life legislative efforts. He was also given the 'Patriot of the Second Amendment' award by the Oklahoma 2nd Amendment Association.
Longtime owner and operator of a successful carpet cleaning business, Faught and his wife of 29 years, Becky, live in Muskogee and are the parents of three grown children - all born and raised in Muskogee.
